Luxembourg: Heart of Europe, Leading Financial centre
Did you know that Luxembourg is the Eurozone’s leading financial centre and the second largest investment fund centre in the world (after the US) with over $4 trillion in assets under management? It is home to 140 banks and over 100 major insurance companies. Fintech has clear strategic importance to Luxembourg’s future, and that is actioned through the work of the LHoFT and partner organisations.
Why the Fintech Awards Luxembourg?
The Fintech Awards in Luxembourg is THE event where Fintech companies meet the giants of finance. Last year, 192 Fintech companies from 41 different countries sent their applications, and 12 were selected. For the 4th edition we want to highlight 20 outstanding Fintech startups from around the world and introduce them to potential new clients and funding opportunities in Luxembourg.
A 2 day event.
On the 18th of June, the 20 Fintech companies will have the opportunity to meet the Luxembourg Financial ecosystem, get connected to a plethora of leading financial firms, and relevant stakeholders in Luxembourg for each of their businesses in order to create synergies, value and foster innovation.
On the 19th of June, the 20 Fintech companies will go through to the competition day. They will be whittled down to 8 finalists who will compete to be Fintech Start-up of the Year.
The winners will be announced during the awards ceremony and after-party on the KPMG Beach in Luxembourg on 19 June in the presence of Luxembourg’s Finance Minister Pierre Gramegna.
The start-ups will be competing for prizes designed to help them grow and develop their company in Luxembourg.
The awards are organised by the LHoFT and KPMG Luxembourg, in collaboration with Digital Lëtzebuerg, the Luxembourg ICT Cluster, Luxinnovation, Luxembourg for Finance and Maison Moderne.
